About Physis
The Physis Group was established with a vision to provide compassionate, therapeutic, and individualised support for children and young people whose needs may not have been fully met within traditional settings. Beginning with a strong focus on wellbeing, personal development, and specialist support, the group has grown to offer education and care services that place relationships, safeguarding, and positive outcomes at the centre of everything they do, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and brighter futures.
Homes
Alongside its educational provision, The Physis Group also provides caring and supportive residential services for children and young people who require a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment. Their care homes are designed to promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal growth, with dedicated staff working closely with each young person to provide consistent support, build positive relationships, and help them feel secure, valued, and empowered for the future.
Academy
Physis Group established Physis Academy in 2012 as a specialist independent school supporting young people who have experienced trauma, disrupted education, and complex social or emotional needs. Since opening, the academy has continued to develop its therapeutic and educational provision, growing from a small specialist setting into a well-regarded trauma-informed school offering personalised education, therapeutic support, and safeguarding-focused care for students aged 11–18. Today, Physis Academy works closely alongside the wider Physis Group’s residential and care services to provide a holistic approach that supports both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
While the school works closely with young people from residential care settings, there is also a strong focus on welcoming and supporting day pupils from the local community and surrounding areas. Physis Academy provides a safe, supportive environment where day pupils can build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve both academically and personally through highly individualised support and strong pastoral care.
