Safeguarding
At Physis Academy, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that students can only thrive academically, socially, and emotionally when they feel safe, supported, and valued. Safeguarding is embedded throughout our curriculum and wider school culture, ensuring that students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate an increasingly complex world. Through a carefully planned spiral curriculum, key themes such as healthy relationships, consent, online safety, mental health, personal boundaries, exploitation, and recognising risk are revisited and developed in age-appropriate ways.

Our approach to safeguarding extends beyond discrete lessons and is reinforced through daily interactions, pastoral support, mentoring, wellbeing programmes, and strong relationships between staff and students. We work proactively to help young people understand how to keep themselves safe, identify trusted adults, and seek support when needed. By creating a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where students feel heard and respected, we empower them to build resilience, make informed decisions, and develop the confidence to participate safely and successfully in school and the wider community.
